AASLH membership dues will change on July 1, the first day of our fiscal year.

Adjusting our dues is not a decision we ever take lightly. For years, our nation has experienced higher than normal rates of inflation, which are increasing costs for everyone, including AASLH. The new dues will help AASLH continue to provide the vital services and support to help you, your organization, and our field thrive.

AASLH is working hard to control our costs. For instance, we recently moved into a smaller and more affordable office space. Over the past year, we have had to cut back on key staff travel to conferences where we connect with members and collaborate with other organizations. These are just a few examples of how we are always looking to manage costs to get the most out of the revenue you provide to AASLH.

At the same time, AASLH is investing in a number of areas so our national history community can get the most out of membership:

  • We’re increasing the amount of training and professional development we offer, which members participate in at a discount.
  • We’re investing in new technology that will make it easier for members to access our resources, information, and expertise.
  • We’re strengthening the ways that history organizations use history and historical practice to support democracy and civic engagement.

We carefully considered this change and have endeavored to keep our dues as low as possible. AASLH and our national history community appreciate your membership. We’re stronger together.

You can lock in an additional year of dues at the current rate if you renew your membership before July 1.

Thank you for your continued support of AASLH.
