Museums Advocacy Day, an annual group outing to speak up for museums in our nation’s capital, is coming up in February. Organized by the American Alliance of Museums and supported by AASLH, Museums Advocacy Day is a vital opportunity to gain advocacy skills, meet nationwide practitioners, and connect with your Congressional offices to demonstrate the value of your institution.
This year’s program, scheduled for February 23 and 24, will include advocacy and policy programming, networking events, and the chance to meet with members of Congress on Capitol Hill to highlight the important work of the museum field. AASLH staff will be in attendance to underscore the particular contributions and needs of history museums—especially as we mark our nation’s Semiquincentennial year.
We encourage you to join us at this year’s Museums Advocacy Day. Together, we can use our voices to demonstrate the civic, educational, and economic impact of museums in communities across the country. Registration closes on January 16.
