June 1–12, 2026 | Minneapolis, Minnesota
Since 1959, the History Leadership Institute (HLI) has helped history professionals develop the skills, insights, and connections they need to lead with purpose and impact. Through immersive learning experiences and a trusted national network, HLI equips leaders to strengthen their organizations and the broader history community.
The HLI Seminar is the field's premier professional development program for mid- and advanced-career professionals at history organizations of all types and sizes. Meeting from May through September 2026, including an intensive two-week, in-person experience, HLI Fellows explore the biggest questions and challenges shaping our field, including human-centered work culture, inclusive practices, facilitating change, centering values, and much, much more.
Led by Andrea Jones, a nationally recognized museum educator and leadership facilitator, the HLI Seminar offers a transformational experience designed to help you lead more effectively—within your institution and across the field.
